[Waitlist] Business Writing Skills – Virtual Workshop

Summary

This course is designed to teach participants to communicate clearly and persuasively in all forms of business writing, and with a focus on email communication. Participants will learn to create compelling, well-organized messages and tailor them to the appropriate audience. They will learn a step-by-step approach to the writing process, reflect upon their own writing style, and examine common issues in tone, detail, formatting, and accuracy.

Standard tuition: $200 | Cornerstone tuition: $100

Topics

Students in this course will participate in two (2) 90-minute interactive virtual workshops, and complete a survey to facilitate reflection activities. Workshop to be held on Feb. 28 & Mar. 2 from 2:00-3:30p ET. Participation in both sessions is required.

Audience

Chubb Agents, Brokers, Producers, Business Development, Account Executives and Sales Management professionals who wish to improve their business writing and communication skills.

Program Structure

Workshop to be held on Feb. 28 & Mar. 2 from 2:00-3:30p ET. Participation in both sessions is required.

  • Session 1 | We will begin by exploring the benefits, challenges, and pitfalls of business writing. We will then discuss the critical elements of persuasive communication, both written and verbal. We will introduce The Latimer Group’s GAP Method and Story Board frameworks, which will be provided in a fillable workbook for future use.
  • Session 2 |  We will introduce The Latimer Group’s Frame-Fill-Finish approach to the writing process, offer advice on writing style and mindset, and address the final stage of editing and proofreading. We will end with an examination of communication channels and best practices for email correspondence.

Expectations & Requirements

Participants acquire skills through individual and group exercises, coaching, and self-reflection.

The following is required in order to complete this course:

  • A modern computer with a broadband Internet connection
  • Basic proficiency with web-conferencing platforms including sharing webcam
  • Approximately 1 hour to devote to planning activity and self-reflection outside of the virtual sessions

This is a tuition-based virtual class.
