Special hazards present unique and greater fire peril to facilities. Rapidly developing fires and explosions can occur with flammable liquid use, dusty operations, flammable gas use, exotic metals, and so on. While fire sprinklers designed for occupancy hazards generally control building fires, special hazards exposures generally require additional levels of protection for control and/or suppression.
