The new California OSHA Hotel Housekeeping Musculoskeletal Injury Prevention Program (MIPP) goes into effect on July 1, 2018. Are you ready?
This new rule (CAL-OSHA Title 8, Section 3345) requires all California hotels, motels, and lodging establishments engaged in housekeeping activities to establish and implement programs to minimize acute, repetitive, and chronic musculoskeletal injuries that occur to housekeepers. By attending this webcast you will learn the key items that must be included in the MIPP which are:
- Procedures to identify and evaluate housekeeping hazards through worksite evaluations that include housekeeper input
- Procedures to investigate musculoskeletal injuries to housekeepers
- Methods to correct identified hazards
- Training of employees and supervisors on safe practices and controls, and a process for early reporting of injuries to the employer
In addition, Chubb Risk Engineering will provide practical best practice steps you can take to reduce these injuries, regardless of your state location. Tools will be reviewed and provided to assist with standard compliance, as well as to perform workplace hazard evaluations.
The first key date from an enforcement perspective is October 1, 2018, which is the date the MIPP must be implemented. Be ready by attending this free Chubb Risk Engineering webcast for our valued clients and brokers!
