Webinar Summary
Please note the original date of this webinar was changed from 11/16 to 12/11. In today’s technology driven world the need for battery powered equipment and devices has skyrocketed. To meet this demand many industries have turned to utilizing lithium-ion batteries. These batteries can be found in everything from cell phones, laptops, transportation equipment, backup power sources, power tools, and even personal hygiene products. With the tremendous increased use cases for these batteries, it is extremely likely that the vast majority of all commercial operations knowingly or unknowingly have lithium-ion battery exposures.
Without an existing NFPA standard guiding the use and storage of lithium-ion batteries as well as no specific OSHA guidance in the workplace, companies lack the necessary guidelines to properly manage the presence of these batteries across their enterprises and locations. This webinar will identify and offer mitigation tools to address the inherent risks of lithium-ion batteries in the workplace. With this increased use and demand, there is a need for additional competence in areas of employee safety and property exposures associated with lithium-ion battery handling, charging, and storage.
