Webinar Summary
It’s so much fun to have fun. But did you know that when we play, our brain responds in ways that can greatly benefit our skills in business?
Children don’t have to be taught how to play – they innately know how to do so. But as we mature into adults, we lose the spontaneity and creativity that make play so much fun. On top of that, the everyday demands of life get in the way of play: work, family, children, walking the dog, running errands, mowing the lawn, cooking and cleaning…the list is endless. These demands are real and ongoing – and valid. We have to do the things that allow us to run our lives, both at home and at work.
Our brains adapt to the demands of everyday life and create superhighways that allow us to do repetitive tasks efficiently and well. But those superhighways can restrict our ability to think more creatively and impair innovative ideas. The remedy is play. Play has a studied, scientific, positive affect on us, if we approach it purposefully. Purposeful play allows our brains to think in new ways. And it leads to greater satisfaction and more balance in our lives.
You’re likely thinking, “Ok, that sounds great, but my schedule is so jam packed as it is. I can’t squeeze play into my life now.” But you can. This session will show exactly how to get purposeful play into your life, in realistic doses. You’ll gain a roadmap of how to get purposeful play into your life.
Studies are clear on the value of purposeful play and how it fosters creativity, connectedness and innovation – all valuable skills in business that will improve your already high performance.
